Hentai, as a pornographic medium, has been around for ages and yet, there’s always the possibility that today, right now, at this moment, someone is being introduced to it for the first time. And that’s great! Hentai is great because there’s something out there for everyone, like regular live-action porn, and its a showcase for artistic talent and creativity. That being said, it might be a little daunting for those to try and seek it out on their own since there is so much of it. And because a lot of it can get really depraved at the drop of a hat, it can be difficult to know where to start. And that is the purpose of this article! Whether you’re trying to introduce the genre to a significant other or dipping your toe in the medium, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite hentai that is gentle enough for newcomers.
Baka Dakedo Chinchin Shaburu no Dake wa Jouzu na Chii-chan
Kouta is an average, normal guy. By porn standards, he’s not the most handsome or blessed with a chiseled frame but he gets by and keeps to himself. One hot day, while grabbing some snacks at a convenience store, he is approached by Shiina, a classmate who, by her very essence, is an extremely desirable woman: incredibly attractive, tanned skin, revealing clothing, and breasts that’ll make your head spin. What could she possibly want with our hero? A tutor! Shiina wants better grades and knows just how to properly motivate her classmate.
I already have a review of this series on the site but I’m bringing it back here because it’s one of the most accessible hentai I can think of. There’s nothing too crazy, intense, or anything over the top and instead, is a love story of two different people coming together after what appears to be a very surface level, superficial relationship. Shiina has sex with Kouta because she needs him to help raise her grades but as the pair have more and more intimate encounters, something special grows between them. Ultimately, that special something grows into a declaration of love and probably the sweetest ending I’ve seen in a porno, live-action or otherwise.
Cleavage
Yuuto and Erica are brother and sister, though conveniently not by blood, and the sole occupants of their family home after their newly widowed father is transferred to the opposite side of the country for work. Yuuto has been struggling with the sudden death of his stepmother and, much to Erica’s annoyance, can’t stop thinking about her. Yuuto has a bit of a breast fetish (making him the most relatable character to me) and it isn’t long before Erica decides to “heal him in her [mother’s] place,” eventually crossing that taboo line. Though they intend to keep their relationship a secret, it doesn’t take long for interested parties to notice the sudden change in the pair’s behavior. The first is Morikawa, a young woman who lusts after Erica, and the other is Yuuto’s art teacher, who’s interested in giving her student a special private lesson in exchange for keeping their secret.
Cleavage is a wonderfully erotic series that’s chock full of great material, from boob play and underwater sex to dominating teachers and creative use of a modeling doll. Those who are a little uneasy about the suggestion of incest can find comfort in the fact that the video goes out of its way to mention that the pair are not related. But the best thing about Cleavage is that it was released in the States from Media Blasters back in the day, which means it can be watched completely uncensored! Uncensored content is hard to come by with hentai and while some studios are really good about it, most pixelated mosaics are kind of sloppy and get in the way.
Shocking Pink!
One of the more goofier titles on this list, Shocking Pink! Is a surprisingly fun story about a young woman who claims to be the reincarnation of Gentoku Ryuubi (aka Liu Bei), one of the Great Men of the old Three Kingdoms in China. She comes to the door of Takaaki Morokuzu and begs him to be her grand strategist because when written out, Takaaki’s name strongly resembles that of “Koumei Shokatsu,” also known as Zhuge Liang who was one of the best military and political strategists in the Three Kingdoms. The series is based on the hentai manga of the same name (fun fact: it was one of the first porn comics I ever read!) and follows the plot fairly closely. Ryuubi is accompanied by her two sisters, also named after major players during the Three Kingdoms, who are bent on world domination. After Ryuubi convinces Takaaki to join in on her somewhat misguided mission, she declares their first mission: a platoon of soldiers–from birth.
Shocking Pink! is a fun, silly story where you’re not given any time to think, “Wait, is this real? Or is she crazy?” Like the protagonist, our attention is quickly shifted to sex scenes that involve the characters, even all at the same time. Poor Takaaki finds himself at the whims of all three ladies, each getting a turn to show their devotion and gain satisfaction from their hapless partner.
Oppai Gakuen Marching Band
A budding photographer is caught up in a misunderstanding and finds his life taken in a surprising direction. Yuuji was enjoying an afternoon with his camera, taking pictures of his school. As his lens captured non-offensive photos of the school’s all-girl Marching Band Club, their groupies thought that he was being a peeping tom and destroyed his favorite camera. Lamenting the loss of his pride and joy, Yuuji is approached by a mysterious and mischievous bunny girl who, after stuffing our his face in between her breasts, suddenly disappears and leaves him with a brand new pink camera. When the club allows him to take their pictures as a means of apology, little do they—or Yuuji—know that the camera leaves its subjects with wet panties and massive sex drives.
Oppai Gakuen Marching Band is a fun and delightful sex yarn with a supernatural twist. Although the camera renders the girls of the Marching Club completely uninhibited, you have to wonder if it really holds power over its subjects or it simply enables their hidden, passionate nature. It might explain why one of the girls was so quick and eager to indulge in a little foot play. As far as supernatural porn goes, this one’s a little light but if this has got your interest piqued, then welcome to the club!
Energy Kyouka
If you’ve gotten through the titles on this list, I’d say it’s time to graduate you to the next level.
Kyouka is a high schooler who absolutely loves sex. So much so that she has turned it into a part-time job of sorts to pay off her indulgences, charging the boys of her school for the opportunity. Kyouka doesn’t suffer inexperienced boys lightly, yelling at them for their inability to satisfy her or, in the case of one hopeless student, cum as soon as he penetrates her. Fifteen cumshots and 75,000 yen later, Kyouka is riding high until she is caught by Leona, the diminutive class president, who is willing to forgive her transgressions in exchange for assisting in her mother’s business which just so happens to be an underground sex club. As you can probably guess, Kyouka is more than pleased with the situation–especially since she’s getting paid.
Energy Kyouka is all about gangbangs and fun, raunchy sex. It’s also really funny, dropping comedy relief at just the right moment to make this OVA more than something to get off to. And when you’re done with that, there’s a sequel! It brings back Kyouka, Leona, and her mother the brothel owner while introducing new characters, such as Kyouka’s brother (whom she regularly gives blowjobs to and gets the best birthday party ever) and Karin, a prostitute turned student who Kyouka seeks out to help satisfy a special client. I love Energy Kyouka because it showcases a lot of fun, sexy situations while still making time for a fun story. The sequel rushes things a little bit (why was there no mention of a brother earlier?) but at this point, if all you care about is hot and sexy animation, you probably won’t care that much.
