Netorare, or NTR for short, is a controversial genre. A lot of hentai fans greatly dislike it because it often depicts the slow corruption and deterioration of a happy couple, married or not, through mental and sexual manipulation. More often than not, women are the victims of lecherous men who want what they can’t have and use every play in the book, from lies to straight-up blackmail, to get it. They try so hard to resist the sexual advances of these unscrupulous fiends or show pleasure when they’re put through the gauntlet but they eventually succumb to the breaking point and turn into willing slaves to sex. A lot of NTR hentai ends with the woman rejecting her previous lover in favor of their new man, taunting and gloating as if to slam the final nail in the coffin. It’s an emotionally crushing genre so naturally, it’s perfect for a best of list!
Whatever your personal feelings are towards NTR, it is a genre that is here to stay. The “unsatisfied housewife” trope is extremely popular in pornography, both animated and live-action, and because there are folks that enjoy this type of content, I’m happy to oblige with a viewing list! I am not, however, without mercy so some of the picks on this list are not particularly intense and have moderately happy endings! Or at least those that won’t leave you feeling super guilty and crappy once the fapping is done.
Kedamono-tachi no Sumu Ie de
If we’re going to cover this subject, the best thing to do is get the most soul-crushing title out of the way. It’s like a band-aid. It’ll hurt less the faster you peel it off! Kedamono-tachi no Sumu le de is a story of Arata and Koharu, a young pretty couple in love. Arata has yet to introduce the sugary sweet Koharu to his family and for good reason. As the black sheep of the family, Arata is thought very little of by his step-father Ginchou and meathead older step-brother. Their behavior has made it difficult for Arata to find love because of a betrayal he experienced in his youth. His hope for a happy relationship with Koharu is dashed after his apartment is destroyed in a fire, forcing the pair to move in with Ginchou. Although he greets Koharu with open arms, the perverted old man immediately forces himself with Koharu, threatening to tell Arata about their encounter if she doesn’t go with it. To make matters worse, not only does Koharu have to suffer the humiliations with Ginchou, she must also satisfy Arata’s older step-brother in order to keep the vile truce.
Kedamono-tachi no Sumu Ie de does not have a happy ending and if you want to get through this two-episode OVA, you’re going to need a strong resolve to reach the emotionally crippling ending. Why even bother having a discussion with this hentai? Because despite how tough the content is to watch, the animation during the many, many creative sex scenes is actually quite awesome–especially if you dig ahegao faces.
Tsuma ga Kirei ni Natta Wake
This hentai follows a husband who discovers his wife is having an affair. This is one of the more unique NTR titles on this list because it presents a cuckold relationship instead of the more traditional “wife is fucked into oblivion” type of NTR. Tarou is our narrator and shares that he knows his wife, Misako, is sleeping around. How, exactly? Her lover sends Tarou a photograph of them having sex. This revelation could lead to a lot of outcomes – like confronting his wife or beating the shit out of the dude banging her. Instead, Tarou is aroused by the sight. He meets with his wife’s secret lover and encourages them to keep going while sending him more videos and photographs of the affair. The other man is completely OK with this, pointing out that some couples are totally into this sort of practice. Tarou walks a very fine line around Misako as he debates telling her about what’s been going on or continue to watch as Misako experiences a fine range of erotic adventures and delicious wardrobe changes.
In my review of the hentai, I pointed out that the worst thing about Tsuma ga Kirei ni Natta Wake is the Grand Canyon of a cliffhanger ending. I won’t spoil it here but it leaves so many questions that I desperately want to be answered. Hell, I’m angrier over the lack of a suitable conclusion than I am over the infidelity!
Katainaka ni Totsui de Kita Russia Musume
It’s time to switch gears! I wrote a review of Katainaka ni Totsui de Kita Russia Musume and in it, I described the OVA to be “almost pleasant.” That’s because the husband is a barely-there character who is never around to satisfy his new Japanophile wife. Kenta has a brother, Kouta, who has recently married Alisa, a hot, busty Russian woman who is happy to join the family. The only problem is that Kenta is an abject pervert and falls instantly in lust with the blonde-haired beauty and hatches a series of ridiculous plans to get into Alisa’s pants, such as teaching her a “purification” exorcism to help cure her fear of ghosts, keep her “warm” during a shower (why not just turn up the heat?), the dangers of sweating through a yukata, and inviting her to perform cosplay.
Although Alisa is cheating on her husband with Kenta, she does acknowledge that most of their antics are wrong because she is a married woman. However, the situation here doesn’t carry the same emotional weight or gravity as Kedamono-tachi no Sumu Ie de because the tone in this series is lighter, has a twisted sense of adult humor, and that Kouta is never around ( each episode opens with him being called away from some business trip). So, yes, there’s cheating being done here but it won’t leave you feeling repulsed!
Ano Ko no Kawari ni Suki na Dake
Now, this is a fun one. Ano Ko no Kawari ni Suki na Dake is a sexual adventure in mistaken identity. Reina and Akio are a married couple expecting their first child. Out of the goodness of her heart, Reina’s mother Minako invited the couple to move in with for the duration of the pregnancy. Minako couldn’t be happier with the arrangement because it means getting to live with her son-in-law Akio, who is described as being a total morsel of a man. He’s fit and muscular, gentle, mild-mannered, and completely polite. She even goes as far as to suggest that he’s too good of a husband for Reina. Minako decides to have a little fun trying on some of her daughter’s old clothes, specifically a super tight, super low cut cheerleader uniform that shows off Minako’s divine, weighty breasts. In an embarrassing (if super hot) act of grabby hands, Akio sneaks up from behind and starts rubbing his dick against Minako’s ass believing her to be Reina. After profusely apologizing for his behavior and telling Minako that he and Reina mutually agreed to not have sex during the pregnancy, the mature housewife takes sympathy on the strapping lad and allows him to use her body in the interim.
It might be a bit of a stretch to consider Ano Ko no Kawari ni Suki na Dake NTR alongside Kedamono-tachi no Sumu Ie de because it features a consensual sexual relationship between two adults (one of whom is married) but the affair isn’t presented in a way that’s malevolent or mean spirited. Also, Minako herself appeared to be a widow, so it’s not like she’s sleeping behind her husband’s back. Sure, Akio develops an obsession with Minako and engages in risky sex with an unaware Reina close by but at the end of the day, the two do not deliberately set out to hurt anyone.
Hitozuma Life: One Time Gal
Hitozuma Life: One Time Gal is a great companion piece to Ano Ko no Kawari ni Suki na Dake because it follows a similar spirit of lonely housewives inadvertently finding themselves intimate with their daughter’s significant other. Aria is a dutiful housewife who gets caught up in cleaning her daughter’s clothes. Taken aback by their flashiness, she allows herself the thrill of going out in public and letting men’s eyes look her up and down. On the way to the grocery store to catch a sale, she is goaded into joining a few young men for karaoke inside a shady entertainment hotspot. Allowing herself to get drunk and participate in an erotic version of the King’s game, Aria becomes another victim of the boy’s conniving plan to have sex with women and blackmail them into going all the way. Just when you start worrying about her, Aria’s watch alarm goes off and reminds her of the sale that got her out of the house. With a surprising level of vigor and intimidation, she forces the boys to delete the photos and promise to never take advantage of women ever again.
The next day, Aria is introduced to her daughter’s newest boyfriend Youichi, who just so happens to be one of the boys she met at the karaoke joint. Both are surprised by this revelation but that doesn’t stop the despicable, cheating Youichi from coercing Aria into sex with harmful promises against her daughter. Again, Aria surprises us. She is thoroughly familiar with Youichi because she is friends with his mother and knows about the man’s mother-complex. It’s a rather strange turn of events, to be honest, and their intimate encounter dramatically changes Youichi’s behavior and demeanor in ways that left me scratching my head. But the mom is hot, so I guess it doesn’t matter?
